Devil’s Path

According to most hikers and backpackers, Devil’s Path is the toughest hike in the East Coast. The 24 mile path, that stretches across five of the thirty five Catskill High peaks, is usually done in 3 days at a moderate pace. We attempted to do it in two. As we faced broken bridges, makeshift log trails, frigid temperatures, lack of a tent and proper sleeping bags, frozen wood deterring us from making fire, and the possibilities of bears and porcupines, we were only able to do nine miles of the twenty four. Even though we might not have conquered the Devil’s Path, it was a fun experience, which I don’t plan on doing it again till it gets warmer out.

Home sweet home. Shed.
